Goopy Girls
Goopy Girls is a creative collective founded by myself and Kayley Sonheim, designed as a space for projects that embody our shared vision of embracing life’s messiness. At Goopy Girls, we coined the term ‘goopy’ to represent the idea that life is often chaotic, and sometimes the best response is to lean into that mess, turning it into something playful rather than letting it feel negative. This philosophy is at the heart of Goopy Girls: we celebrate vulnerability and the imperfections of real life, encouraging people to face it with joy and shameless authenticity.
Our approach to creative projects is rooted in what we call the ‘exploration’ stage of the creative process. We believe that no project can truly succeed without first exploring the subject deeply—being curious, playful, and getting inside the material in a way that allows it to unfold naturally. This exploratory stage is essential to our work, as it leads to richer, more authentic creations that feel vibrant and alive.
Goopy Girls works to showcase artists, writers, thinkers, and creatives of all kinds, providing a platform where they can share projects that let them tap into childlike curiosity and uninhibited joy. Our projects embrace playfulness, sexuality, and maximalism, celebrating the unexpected and inviting others to turn their unique ideas into expressions of ‘goopiness.’ To learn more, visit goopygirls.com.
